Lazy Teriyaki Ribs & Rice

2013 09 Teriyaki Ribs

I’ve made ribs in the slow-cooker in the past, but I wasn’t a big fan of it. Too many fat bits floating around. They were on sale at the supermarket, I decide to try them in the oven. I watched some videos and read some recipes and then came up with this version.


  • Pork Ribs
  • Teriyaki marinade that I had in the fridge
  • Minced Garlic
  • Minced onion flakes
  • Brown Sugar


Step 1: Mix random* amounts of all the marinade ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
Step 2: Pour marinade into zip-loc bags along with the ribs.
Step 3: Put the zip-loc bags in a fridge. Accidentally leave them in over night. or Two.
Step 4: Place the ribs on a rack over a foil-lined baking sheet. Put in the oven at 300F for 2-2.5 hours, flipping them over once (after precisely 1.25 hours).
Step 5: While the ribs are in the oven, take the left over marinade, add some extra* ingredients if you don’t have enough liquid and heat it up in a pot.
Step 6: Take the ribs out, coat with marinade and broil for 5 minutes. Flip it over and repeat.
Step 7: Curse about the giant mess despite precautions of Step 4.
Step 8: Enjoy delicious ribs with sushi rice and random* veggies. For an extra challenge, try eating them with chopsticks.
