Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

So, I believe I started a new St. Patrick’s Day Tradition: watching The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns and eating a breakfast fry up. It’s not St. Patty’s until you watch a movie about Leprechauns with Whoopie Goldberg and Roger Daltrey in it.

I also got a cute Shamrock plant for our table. Cute flowers.

Breakfast contains: Scrambled eggs, pork sausages, thick cut bacon, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, baked beans, croissant and some green cheddar with Guinness mixed in it. I’m basically trying to re-create breakfast at the Three Broomsticks. To drink: Irn Barr Bru, my new favorite Scottish orange soda.

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes

Originally inspired by Sugar and Snapshots, but then I got lazy. Instead of the fancy frosting recipe, I just made the basic butter cream frosting and added a bunch of Baileys into it. Beware the ganache – I had to have a sit down after just smelling it 🙂

I packed them for someone visiting us, that is why they are in plastic glasses. They were too wide to get to the bottom, so I put some Easter grass in there. I like the way they came out.

This is the before picture. That is a LOT of ingredients.  We used Michael’s instead of Bailey’s because I tasted it in the store and liked it better. And, it was on sale.

Irish Soda Bread

In honor of St. Patty’s Day [Recipe] It was amazing – butter crust and soft interior. Probably my favorite bread that I’ve ever made. And it was really easy and not too messy.

Shamrock Puffins

My husband really loved the puffins that I made last time, so since I had some extra buttermilk laying around I decided to make some more. This time, I skipped the chocolate ships and put in some greed food coloring and St. Patty’s sprinkles instead. I baked it in the Mini Shamrock Shaped Silicone Cake Pan (that I bought for $5 in July – Woot for off-season shopping!)

I took these pictures in a hurry, since someone was super hungry! With the rest of the batter, I made some regular green puffins that I’ve frozen so he can eat it during the rest of the week.

And getting into the spirit, I also tattooed a banana 😀 Now’s it a St. Patty’s Banana. It’s a temporary tattoo that I got from Target for $2 for a pack.
